HOUSE OF THE LORD
There can be joy in the house of the Lord because Christ has died, Christ is risen, and Christ will come again. Let’s hear God call us to worship through His Word:
Call to Worship: Psalm 138:1-6
We respond to the One who is high, yet regards the lowly, we respond to the one who is full of steadfast love and mercy. Let’s sing of His attributes:
JESUS!
JESUS PAID IT ALL
Sermon: Luke 1:26-38
If you are here this morning as a follower of Jesus, I hope that the life of Christ fuels your joy, and your worship. Historically, the Apostles’ Creed has been used as a baptismal confession. It put language to the public profession of faith of the individual being baptized. But if you are here this morning as a follower of Jesus, these are word not just for the individual being baptized, this is family language, this is the language of the people of God. Would you stand if you’re able, and let’s confess what we believe about our faith through the words of the Apostles’ Creed:
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
